Eid Mubarak! [Photo-dump]
This Eid was a special one for me because it was my first one with my little guy alhumdulilah MashaAllah ❤️. It also marked another Ramadan in which I was able to successfully fast while breastfeeding! I have been able to do so with all three kids yet each time I am always nervous as each baby is so different!
Is there such thin as overdoing it with desserts? I may have with *EIGHT* different options made from scratch baked over 3 days 😂. We had to follow a dessert eating schedule from morning to night to enjoy it all haha! But more than being about eating desserts, for me it’s the enjoyment and memory making with my girls, who love baking with me ❤️.
Thanks to @modestctr for my mint chiffon dress, it was such a comfortable yet elegant option for an afternoon of fun with the kiddos!
I hope you all had a wonderful and sweet Eid. Remember my family in your duas ❤️.

[HOW TO DRINK ENOUGH WATER DURING RAMADAN]
save + tag to stay hydrated!
If you're experiencing any symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, cramps, low energy while fasting....it may be because you haven't been drinking enough water since Ramadan started!
The truth is, you should be drinking the same amount of water in a fasting day as you would on a regular, non-fasting day. It may sound challenging to some, but it just requires a bit of planning!
In the infographic, you can see exactly how to spread out your water intake. All of a sudden, it feels a lot more doable! You can save this and have a peek so you don't forget. I also feel like sometimes the days blend into each other, especially if you're staying up late, so breaking it up helps make sure that each day you're drinking enough water.
Three things to remember:
1. Each individuals water requirements differ. Breastfeeding mamas in particular should be drinking more water. Body size and age also impacts how much your body needs.
2. Avoid sugary drinks and try to stick to water, lemon water, and herbal teas.
3. Eat high-water content fruits and veggies like cucumber, watermelon, berries, etc to help with your hydration goals.
Tag a friend who can use a boost with more water this Ramadan!

Here's my yearly samosa reminder...but I promise I'm not being the Samosa Police! Hear me out... is the essence of Ramadan really about fasting only to overeating fried foods for 30 days straight? You essentially end up eating more calories this month than any other month...WHILE FASTING.
I most likely underestimated here when it comes to fried food, there are usually also a couple of spring rolls, pakoras and other fried goodies. So by the end of the month, most people have had well over 100 fried items. The excessive amounts of fried foods after a day of fasting are often the reason you are feeling low in energy, thirsty, and unable to be your most productive self in the most blessed month of the year
Now I'm not telling you to completely cut it out if it's important to your family traditions, but just be a bit more mindful of the fried foods you eat. If you eat 1 fried item (choose your fave for highest satisfaction) everyday, you will have still had 30 items by the end of the month!
Tag a samosa lover that needs this reminder!

You should be aiming for 1.5 to 2lbs a week of weight loss in Ramadan. This will assure you still have energy and feel good.
This will also make sure you aren't losing much muscle mass. Regardless of your goal, no one is really trying to lose muscle. The goal is to lose body fat, but the more aggressive the weight loss the higher the chance of you losing muscle and strength .
Ramadan is a month in which we want to increase our ibaadah/worship. The last thing we want is something taking our energy away. Overeating and significantly undereating will do exactly that.
The purpose of eating healthy and working out in Ramadan is to give us the ability to do more worship in Ramadan, not less. In the process you will also lose weight, but that shouldn't be the only goal.
Thoughts?

Basically, get off your phone and focus!
Stay in the workout and don't lose your focus. Count your rest and be strict with it. Unless you feel like you honestly need an extra 10-15 seconds to recover to stay safe.
Besides that, use a watch and time your rest.

I see a lot of people looking for quick fixes... Looking for a supplement, magical fruit or some special exercise that will suddenly get you results.
That's not how it works and anyone who tries to sell you on any of that, run from them.
Getting results takes time but it doesn't mean it won't happen. Patience and consistency and you'll be shocked at how far you can go.
- workout program
- meal plan
- consistency
Those 3 are super important.

One year ago, I was spending most of my day in my bed because my pregnancy was making me so sick. I had to put a lot of my life on pause and just focus on getting through the day while managing my symptoms. It was hard.
Six months ago, I gave birth to my son and after being a diaper free house/ sleeping through the night for a couple of years, it felt like I was starting all over. It was hard. But through this hardship, I had this beautiful gift, the difficult pregnancy was past me, and it was worth it.
This past weekend, I had a choice to make - do date night with baby in tow or stay at home.
Since this was my third, I felt a lot more courageous and noticed a huge shift in my mindset and so the choice was easy. This is how my 6 month old ended up at his first Leaf’s game! (iA the first of many).
Motherhood is hard, there’s no doubt about it. Every season of motherhood (from the time of pregnancy to them being teens/adults) will have its own set of hardships, but you know what else comes along with it? Beautiful moments, blessings, and so much to cherish.
Yes the days feel long but the years are short - our moments with our children feel like forever but in reality they are limited.
It feels like I just gave birth yesterday yet it’s already been half a year. If these past 6 months have taught me anything, it’s to acknowledge the motherhood hardships but also not forgot to enjoy the special moments as they happen.
Happy 6 months to my mini mahram ❤️.

Losing bodyfat, building muscle and getting stronger is not difficult.
You don't need to follow an extreme method where your schedule is turned upside down and you devout everything to just losing weight. It will very quickly become miserable and something you can't do long term. So once you stop, you will gain the weight back and then some.
You need to schedule 3, 45 minutes to an hour workouts and have a good wholesome nutrition plan in place. Where you have sufficient carbs, protein and fats. That's right, to lose weight you do not need to cut out carbs.
3 workouts a week planned out well will be more than effective in helping you get stronger and lose body fat. The key is making sure you are consistent and schedule out your workouts.
Ideally focusing on 3 full body workouts. This will assure you target multiple muscle groups a week helping them get stronger and build muscle. You will also be able to superset and combine exercises to raise the intensity which can help with weight loss.
How do you split up your workouts?

#AD Can salads be a part of your winter meal? Yes, especially when they include citrus, which is a winter fruit! Sunkist®️ Citrus is my go-to for high quality, delicious citrus, which is a brand that has been around for over 129 years. As a cooperative of family farms across California and Arizona, they grow nearly 40 different varieties of fresh citrus! From now until the end of the month, you can save $1.00 on the purchase of Any ONE (1) Bag of Sunkist®️ Cara Cara Oranges, Blood Oranges, Navel Oranges, Minneola tangelos, or Lemons
Salad-in-a-jar is my go-to option to pack in a lot of nutrition for my family! Pairing spinach with citrus like Sunkist®️ Blood Oranges and Sunkist®️ Cara Cara oranges is a great way to maximize iron absorption!

2 Tbsp juiced Sunkist®️ orange
2 Tbsp vinegar
1 Tbsp olive oil
Pinch of salt, black pepper, garlic powder

¼ cup roasted beets
1/2 orange segments (Sunkist®️ Cara Cara or Sunkist®️ Blood Orange)
2 Tbsp crumbled feta
5 pecans
1 cup spinach
Directions:

2. In a 500mL mason jar, layer ingredients in the order of the list above.
